Grew up in Minnetonka, surrounded by sports and animals

Erik grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota and attended Wayzata High School. His childhood was filled with baseball, football, hockey, and animals. He grew up raising everything from kittens and puppies to painted turtles and cottontail rabbits. As the years went by the sports fell to the wayside — but the animals stayed. He now lives in Plymouth with his girlfriend and cats.

Philosophy & approach

What’s your core belief about how insurance should work?
Insurance should feel like a safety net, not a transaction. I believe insurance is one of the most important ways we take care of the people we love and the life we’ve built. My job isn’t just to sell you a policy — it’s to make sure you and your family are genuinely protected.
What frustrates you about the insurance industry?
I get frustrated when people are sold coverage they don’t understand, or when they find out too late that their policy didn’t actually cover what they thought it would. Insurance can feel complicated and transactional, and too often people are treated like a quote number rather than a real person with a real family and real concerns.
What kind of clients do you love working with?
I enjoy working with people who want to build a relationship and understand that I’m trying to act as a guide more than a salesman. My clients all have different needs, and the questions I ask are meant to identify what protection they need — not how big of a policy I can write. I want people who appreciate having someone in their corner year after year.
