A Midwest regional carrier built for bundlers. Integrity's condo product leads the market on loss assessment coverage — and their pricing model rewards clients who're willing to carry real deductibles.
Integrity Insurance was founded in 1933 in Appleton, Wisconsin — originally as a farm mutual fire insurance company serving Wisconsin farmers. Over the following decades Integrity expanded into Minnesota (1956) and Iowa (1981), and in 2002 completed an affiliation with Columbus-based Grange Insurance, one of the stronger regional insurance groups in the Midwest. That affiliation improved Integrity's financial backing, product depth, and long-term stability. AM Best rates the Grange/Integrity pool at A Excellent with a stable outlook — a rating that reflects consistent operating performance and solid capitalization.
Integrity operates exclusively through independent agents. There is no direct-to-consumer channel, no online quoting, and no captive agent force. Every policy is placed through an independent agent who has compared Integrity against other options in the market — which is exactly how it should work for a regional carrier whose value proposition is specific and targeted. Integrity is available only in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, and they intend to stay that way. Regional focus, regional expertise, regional accountability.
We began placing clients with Integrity in 2025. In our first year, the standout has been their condo product — particularly for condo and townhome owners who need high loss assessment coverage that actually keeps pace with what Minnesota association master policies require today. Their bundled home and auto pricing is competitive, and their philosophy around mandatory deductibles is honest: clients who carry real skin in the game allow a carrier like Integrity to price more stably over the long term. That's a trade-off worth making for the right client.
In our first year of placement, here's what has consistently stood out — with particular depth on the condo and bundled coverage side.
This is Integrity's standout product for the Options Insurance client base. Condo and townhome association master policy deductibles have escalated sharply in Minnesota — in many cases to $25,000 or more — meaning a single association loss assessment can expose unit owners to thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket costs. Integrity's condo product offers high loss assessment coverage limits that actually reflect what Minnesota associations require today. This is the coverage Tippy's condo and townhome clients specifically ask for, and Integrity delivers it consistently.
Integrity sells exclusively through independent agents. No direct channel, no online quoting, no competition from their own distribution network. That's a deliberate model — Integrity's products and pricing are designed to work through agents who understand them. When you place a client with Integrity through Options Insurance, you're getting a carrier whose entire business model is aligned with the independent agent relationship, not competing against it.
Integrity's best value is in the bundle. Clients who bring both home and auto to Integrity benefit from competitive bundled pricing in the Minnesota market, particularly for standard residential profiles. The bundle-focused model also aligns with how Integrity underwrites umbrella coverage — all underlying policies must be with them — which creates a clean, consolidated coverage picture for clients who qualify.
Integrity's mandatory deductible approach is honest and worth framing correctly to clients. Higher deductibles reduce small-claim frequency, which allows Integrity to price more stably over time and avoid the rate volatility that hits carriers with low-deductible books hard. Clients who understand that insurance is for significant losses — not every ding and scratch — will find Integrity's pricing model rewarding over the long term. This is a mindset conversation worth having before placement, not a surprise at renewal.
Integrity has been insuring Minnesota households since 1956. They understand Minnesota weather, Minnesota construction, and Minnesota claim patterns in a way that a national carrier managing 50 states simultaneously cannot. Their affiliation with Grange provides financial depth; their Midwest regional focus provides relevance. For clients who prefer a carrier with genuine regional roots and accountability, Integrity's history and geography matter.
Third-party review sites consistently show mostly positive customer reviews for Integrity — a meaningful data point for a carrier that doesn't participate in J.D. Power studies. BBB accreditation at A+ adds to the picture. For a regional carrier without the national profile of a Travelers or Progressive, the customer review record is a reliable signal of how claims and service actually go. In our first year of placement, our client experience has matched what the reviews suggest.
No carrier is perfect. These are the honest trade-offs to know about before placing with Integrity.
Integrity's deductible structure is higher than many competitors — and it's mandatory, not optional. Clients who expect to file small claims or who are uncomfortable carrying meaningful out-of-pocket exposure will be frustrated by this. We set expectations clearly before placement: Integrity is built for clients who understand that insurance is for significant losses, not routine maintenance. If that mindset doesn't fit, we place with a different carrier. This is a fit issue, not a flaw — but it matters.
Integrity requires that all underlying policies — home and auto — be placed with Integrity in order to write the umbrella. That means if a client has a specialty auto situation, a farm policy, or other coverage that we place with a different carrier, Integrity can't write the umbrella. For clients whose coverage picture is entirely standard home and auto, this isn't a limitation. For more complex households, it can be.
Integrity is not available outside MN, WI, and IA. For clients with properties in other states — a vacation home, a recently relocated family member, a snowbird situation — we need a different carrier for those out-of-state properties. In the southwest metro Chaska market, this rarely comes up. But it's worth knowing upfront for clients with multi-state footprints.
Integrity doesn't offer online quoting. All quotes go through an independent agent. For clients who want to shop rates online at 10pm on a Sunday, Integrity isn't built for that workflow. Clients placed through Options Insurance won't notice this gap — we handle the quoting process. But it's worth knowing that Integrity's model is agent-first by design, which means their relationship with independent agents is their only distribution channel.
We've been placing with Integrity since 2025. Based on their product design and our first year of experience, here's who belongs with them — and who we'd steer elsewhere.
"We place clients with Integrity when they understand insurance will often require them to have some skin in the game on deductibles. This mindset helps insurance carriers like Integrity weather the storm and have stability and longevity. My condo and townhome association owners love Integrity Insurance — they offer the coverage they need including the loss assessment coverage. It's been a great fit from day one."
